FAQ

Q. How do we apply for a grant?
A. Fill out our application by clicking here .

Q. Does it matter where our non-profit organization is located ?
A. No, AAF makes donations worldwide.

Q. After we submit an application for a grant, how long is the approval process?
A. There is no set time. Many factors can influence our response time...e. g. number of  applications being processed, time the fiscal year, etc. Usually our responses are given in 30-60 days.

Q. If all of our donation request is not approved in full, does AAF ever give a partial grant?
A. Yes, if a partial grant would materially assist in funding the use of proceeds that you submitted.

Q. Why does AAF invest in the art of emerging artists internationally ?

A.  That requirement is part of the bequest that funds AFF annually.  In addition buying art direct from well schooled and talented world artists is another way of direct charitable giving to gifted artists, and receiving something of value in return for the foundation.

Q. What does AAF do with the art it buys ?
A.  Good question !  AAF presently owns over 3,600 original paintings and some limited edition graphics, with more being bought at every month.  We 'recycle ' the art in our collection by contributing art , at no charge to museums, charities, and other non-profits that we support.

Q. What does a non-profit do with a donation of original art ?
A. Another good question.  Museums always welcome donated fine art, also art contributed to universities, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. is welcome by those institutions. Additionally, AAF recycles art from our collection into fund raising opportunities for the non-profit by paying all of the costs associated with a virtual Charity Art Fairs . . . both virtual sales online and live charity events.

Q. What type of  direct grants does AAF prefer ?
A. We prefer to fund clearly defined projects and programs as opposed to donations to an undefined general fund.  Naturally, depending on the needs of the grantee, we have made exceptions.

Q. What other type of direct grants are favored by AAF ?
A. We find that many non-profits get so involved with their projects and programs that they often overlook increasing the size and quality of their own Donor Base.

Q. Why is AAF interested in bettering our Donor Base ?
A. That's an easy question.  If  AAF is asked to donate funds to improve your web site, sponsor a direct mail fund raising program, pay for a public relations campaign, contribute to an event that will draw donors, etc. etc. Then it is our belief that if that our donation is well spent, you should expect to receive a multiple of our original donation by increasing our donor base . . . and in addition to a ' one time ' multiple,  you likely will enjoy increased donations for years to come from newly acquired donors.

Q. If we are not approved for a grant can we apply again ?
A. Of course.  No foundation can fund every request in every fiscal year. However, AAF is fortunate.  Although our foundation is small our funding bequest is annual, therefore feel free to apply in subsequent years.
